DANIEL SUELO LIVES IN A CAVE. UNLIKE THE average American—wallowing in credit-card debt, clinging to a mortgage, terrified of the next downsizing at the office—he isn't worried about the economic crisis. That's because he figured out that the best way to stay solvent is to never be solvent in the first place. Nine years ago, in the autumn of 2000, Suelo decided to stop using money. He just quit it, like a bad drug habit.

His dwelling, hidden high in a canyon lined with waterfalls, is an hour by foot from the desert town of Moab, Utah, where people who know him are of two minds: He's either a latter-day prophet or an irredeemable hobo. Suelo's blog, which he maintains free at the Moab Public Library, suggests that he's both. "When I lived with money, I was always lacking," he writes. "Money represents lack. Money represents things in the past (debt) and things in the future (credit), but money never represents what is present."

On a warm day in early spring, I clamber along a set of red-rock cliffs to the mouth of his cave, where I find a note signed with a smiley face: CHRIS, FEEL FREE TO USE ANYTHING, EAT ANYTHING (NOTHING HERE IS MINE). From the outside, the place looks like a hollowed teardrop, about the size of an Amtrak bathroom, with enough space for a few pots that hang from the ceiling, a stove under a stone eave, big buckets full of beans and rice, a bed of blankets in the dirt, and not much else. Suelo's been here for three years, and it smells like it.

Joe Jackson told ABC News that his son told him that he only agreed to perform 10 shows in London, but that the concert promoter booked more shows to bring the total to 50.

"I was worried about his health, because all the shows that I'm seeing, no artist can do that many shows back to back like that," Joe Jackson told ABC News in an interview broadcast on Monday. "So I knew Michael couldn't do all those shows without some rests in between."

In a statement, Randy Phillips, president and chief executive of concert promoter AEG Live, acknowledged on Monday that the number of shows was originally lower, but said Jackson had agreed to perform more.

"Our original agreement with Michael Jackson called for 31 shows," Phillips said.

When the response to the initial announcement of 10 shows was so overwhelming, AEG Live went to Jackson's then advisor, Dr. Tohme Tohme, and asked if the singer would be willing to do more, Phillips said. The first show was scheduled for July 13 with the remainder were spread out until February 2010.

Tohme told AEG Live that Jackson would perform 50, and Jackson himself said he was motivated to embark on a record-setting run of concerts, Phillips said.

The singer, 50, had previously passed a lengthy physical head of his first live concert series in 12 years and was rehearsing in Los Angeles the day before his death.

Jackson died of cardiac arrest on June 25, after he stopped breathing and paramedics were called to his Los Angeles home.

In a separate interview, Michael Jackson's sister, La Toya Jackson, told The Daily Mail that her brother was "murdered" by a conspiracy of people around him.

La Toya Jackson said she believes her brother was overworked to rehearse and prepare for the concert series, and that he was intentionally separated from his family.

After the L.A. Coroner examined Jackson's body, his family ordered a second, private autopsy on the singer.

"He had needle marks on his neck and his arms and more about those will emerge in the next few weeks," La Toya Jackson told the Daily Mail.

"I cannot discuss that any further as I may jeopardize the investigation," she said. "I can, however, say that I have not changed my mind about my feeling that Michael was murdered."

La Toya Jackson also said her suspicions were raised by medical equipment, including oxygen tanks and a stand with a cord hanging down, in a room at her brother's home.

Media reports have said that the dangerous sedative Diprivan -- normally used in hospitals by anaesthesiologists -- was found at the singer's home.

Los Angeles police have revealed few details of their investigation, and the L.A. Coroner said it will release the results of its autopsy within weeks.

BAGHDAD – Iraqi officials tightened security around churches in Baghdad and in two mostly Christian towns on Monday and braced for possible violence this weekend when huge crowds visit a holy Shiite shrine in the capital.

A series of church bombings targeting Iraq's Christian minority killed at least four people Sunday, including one that happened as worshippers were leaving Mass in eastern Baghdad. Iraq's Christians have often been targeted by Islamic extremists, and many have fled the country despite an overall drop in violence in the past two years.

Fearing car bombs, authorities imposed vehicle bans in the towns of Tilkaif and Hamdaniyah. Both are predominantly Christian towns near the northern city of Mosul where an Iraqi soldier was killed Monday when a bomb attached to his private vehicle exploded, police said.

Daldar Zebari, deputy head of the Ninevah provincial council, which includes Mosul, said the Christian-dominated areas of Mosul were a priority for the security services. But he added: "We will make our best efforts to keep security for the province and all its citizens of all ethnic and religious backgrounds without exception."

Ethnic and sectarian tension also is running high in Kirkuk, another city in northern Iraq where Adm. Mike Mullen, chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, made an unannounced visit on Monday. Kurds want to make oil-rich Kirkuk the capital of their autonomous region in the north despite Arab opposition.

Violence is sharply down in the war that began with the U.S.-led invasion in 2003, but militants still carry out lethal attacks. The U.S. military completed a withdrawal of combat forces from Iraqi cities to outlying bases last month as part of a plan to let Iraq take the lead on ensuring its own security.

Iraqi military spokesman Maj. Gen. Qassim al-Moussawi told reporters in Baghdad that Iraq will not need help from multinational forces in securing an event at a holy Shiite shrine in northern Baghdad. Hundreds of thousands of Shiites are expected on Saturday in Kazimiyah, a predominantly Shiite suburb, to commemorate the death of a revered Shiite imam.

At the same commemoration in 2005, nearly 1,000 Shiite pilgrims, most of them women and children, died in a stampede during a religious procession on a bridge near the shrine. Thousands of the pilgrims, who panicked when they heard unfounded rumors of a suicide bomber, crushed one another or plunged 30 feet into the muddy Tigris River.

Al-Moussawi said the plan to secure the event is "100 percent an Iraqi one."

He lamented the church bombings, but blamed security at one church, saying that a man pretending that his car had broken down asked people at the church if he could park his vehicle near the church. "A few minutes after his departure, it went off," al-Moussawi said.

Also on Sunday, a bomb exploded near a convoy of American personnel that included U.S. Ambassador Christopher Hill, though no one was injured. U.S. embassy spokesman Susan Ziadeh said Monday that an investigation was under way into the bombing, which occurred as the convoy was traveling through Dhi Qar province in southern Iraq.

The King of Pop, who died last month, also occupied third spot with "Off the Wall," which moved up from 10 last week, and fourth with "Thriller," up from six.

His other albums in the Top 10 included "The Motown Years," by Michael Jackson and the Jackson Five, "Number Ones" and "Thriller 25."

In the last week, Jackson releases have accounted for another 600,000 sales, bringing the total of Jackson records sold since his death to some 1.5 million singles and albums, The Official Charts Company said.

Florence and The Machine's debut album "Lungs" was the highest new entry at number two, notching up the biggest first week sales for a debut album so far this year.

In the singles chart, Euro-pop act Cascada retained top spot with "Evacuate the Dancefloor," their eighth hit single and first number one.

La Roux's "Bulletproof," a former number one, moved back up one spot to number two.

Jackson's "Man in the Mirror" slipped one place to number three but he or the Jackson Five had another 10 singles in the top 40.
